Cabinet magazine has just published an article I wrote about a strange event that happened at the end of World War I: the capture and occupation of the city of Fiume (today Rijeka, in Croatia) by a coalition of soldiers, artists and anarchists led by the Italian writer Gabriele d’Annunzio.
