Esta pequeña pieza fue compuesta por incitación de Daniel Blumin, para que la incluyera en un CD compilado por él a beneficio de la radio pública WFMU, de New York, y que tiene el título de Your Song, My Foot! Vol. 2. La consigna era que los productores reimaginaran alguna canción que hubieran adorado en su juventud. Yo recordé la frecuencia del “Poema XX” de Pablo Neruda en posters de cuartos de innumerables adolescentes y a la recitadora argentina y rusa Berta Singerman en los programas de televisión de hace décadas. La voz es de ella, la música mía.

This little piece was assembled on the occasion of an invitation from Daniel Blumin, and was included in a CD that he compiled for the benefit of WFMU public radio, New York. The tile of the CD is Your Song, My Foot! Vol. 2. The request was for the coverists to produce reimaginings of songs that they loved in their youth. I remembered the text of Pablo Neruda’s “Poem XX” in posters on the walls of the rooms of countless teenagers decades ago, and to see the Russian-born Argentinean Berta Singerman reciting the poem on TV. The voice in the track is Singerman’s; the music is mine.
